I have recently taken an interest in a topic brought up by a student in AP research that focuses around the correlation between your personality, and your favorite TV show character. I have not done much research on it, but from what I have broadly seen is that your personality traits, whether that be outgoing and comical, to shy or dark, the correlation between your traits and your favorite TV show character should match up, or they should have a trait that you lack, allowing you to like them more than others. For instance, my favorite TV show character is Barney Stinson, from How I Met Your Mother. Although I don’t see myself as comical as him, his enthusiasm and sense of humor somewhat matches mine, drawing me to like him more than other characters. I think it would be interesting to continue to see correlations between people and their characteristics and their favorite TV show characters.
