Activity of the week, volunteering

undefinedFor this Activity of the week, I decided to share my time that I spent volunteering the the Ronald McDonald House in Winfield. The Ronald McDonald House is a place where people who are getting treated for cancer can stay so that they don’t have to keep traveling from the hospital back to their homes every single day. The house is a great place that is located directly across from CDH. I chose to volunteer here because my cousin once stayed at this house, and I felt like it was important to give back to it. Before Christmas break, there was a house holiday party that the Teen Board was able to plan and run. We spent almost eight hours at the house setting up, cooking, and providing activities for the kids and families to participate in as the holidays approached. Although it was a long day, the excitement of the children’s and the thankfulness the parents expressed to us made it worth the long day. I now regularly volunteer there and hope to do it until I go to college!
