As I look into possible careers to go into in the future, the concept of nursing really interests me, specifically NicU nursing. In an article called “The Day in the Life of an NICU Nurse”, it dives into what to expect on a day as a nurse for premature babies. Although the author then states how there is not really a “typical” day on this job. NICU nursing is extremely different than the rest of nursing because instead of seeing big changes in patients who are older, these nurses look for the smallest of changes that are considered major improvements. I love the idea of that concept because it really shows how small improvements can be a lot in the long run. This concept I like to also think applies to life in general. Instead of always aiming for big changes, it is important to notice the smaller ones, and appreciate them. Being a NICU nurse is a goal that I jabo had for a long time, and with the mindset that they have to have on a daily basis makes me want to be more of a positive person like them!
